The Spain we love to share

At Idilio we bring together private homes with personality in the most beautiful corners of Spain, from the coast to its national parks and inland villages. We visit them, get to know each one, and share them with travellers looking for more than sun and sand: beauty, silence and authenticity.

The story of Idilio

Viveca Bachrach and Hans Hoetink, with Dutch, German, Argentine and American roots, moved to Madrid in 1990 and discovered the beauty Spain keeps far from the coast. In 2012 they began welcoming guests to their summer house in the Sierra de Gredos and, little by little, friends with homes just as special asked them to look after theirs too. That is how Idilio was born in 2014: a collection built on trust and on a shared way of seeing a home, with a love of beauty, design and character. Over twelve years it has gathered more than 1,500 reviews on Airbnb, with an average of 4.9 and the demanding Superhost status year after year.

In 2026 Javier Vias joined the team to lead the relaunch of Idilio: an in-depth rebrand, a new website and an ambitious growth strategy, with one clear aim: to establish Idilio as the reference collection of the most beautiful homes with personality in all of Spain.
