A stone cabin hidden in the woods, where the two gorges of the estate meet. The most secluded of the Casas del Naval, made for two.
La Junta takes its name from the point where the two gorges crossing the estate meet, and it is the most hidden of the three Casas del Naval. It is a stone cabin with a timber roof, wrapped in green, with glass along its sides so the woods come inside and, through the windows, Almanzor peak and the valley running down towards the Campo Arañuelo.
Inside, everything sits in a line: a glass living room with a sofa bed, a well equipped kitchen with a small table, and a bedroom with its own bathroom and two beds that join into a double.
Outside, the land has been left almost as it was. There is a small porch and a water tank under a pergola, and some sixty metres away the river, a waterfall and a pool for a cold, clear swim. Of the Casas del Naval, this is the one for being right in nature, and the one that suits a couple best.

La Junta is part of Casas del Naval, a group of houses, each on its own property but close enough to walk comfortably from one to the other. The nearest town, Villanueva de la Vera, is 3 km away. Summers are dry and hot, softened by the shade of pergolas and trees, and at night the clear skies are full of stars.
The area offers visits to the Yuste Monastery, where emperor Charles V spent the last years of his life, the Parador of Jarandilla de la Vera, and the towns of Trujillo and Cáceres with their conquistador palaces. There are excellent hiking and biking routes, horseback riding stables, kayaking on the Tiétar river, and golf in Candeleda or at the 18 hole course in Talayuela designed by Severiano Ballesteros.
